“Not all those who wander are lost”
One of those deeply meaningful quotes out there, which we can all relate to, on some level or another. In fact, I’d even go on to say, do wander a bit guys, else you’re surely going to get lost. Lost in today’s stressful world, lost in the monotony of the 9-5 jobs, lost in dealing with demanding relationships and wondering in general, as to where the live laugh and love from life went.
Well there’s not much to worry about here, a short getaway of a day or 2, and you’re right back on track. Yes, the answer to most problems is to travel. Travel near, travel far, if you can, travel to the moon or travel to the star. It may be the nearest beach, an exhilarating trek, a neatly planned and sketched out vacation or a bag packing trip, there’s nothing that helps you unwind as much as travel does. You tend to see how small your real life problems actually are, and what a tiny place they occupy in this big and beautiful world. You realise that there is much more to learning than what is usually perceived, and that nature is actually one of the most passionate teachers you’re ever going to find.

The retreating waves teach you to persevere, only to hit back at the shore again and again, you learn to stand tall like the mountains in the rain. You learn to admire the spontaneity and flawlessness of nature, as everything goes about in its own course of time, with the utmost the peace and calm. If you look around and see a tree with a hole cut in its bark, notice that it grows around it. No matter what comes in its way, a river continues to flow, either by breaking the barrier, or by finding a way around it, continues to provide for all those who depend on it for their survival. As mental health these days is on a decline, it is important to note that no matter what grief may break your heart, life will continue to go on. The pain will slowly subside. You will start to feel the joy in little things and look at life in a more positive light, for jobs can fill your pocket, but only adventures can fill your soul! If you haven’t grabbed a bag and aren’t out of the door yet, here’s another one – Travelling will give you a much needed break from the virtual world we live in, so stop scrolling through those Instagram stories, go out, and write one of your own!
The world is like a book, and if you don’t travel, you’re stuck reading the same page. So the next moment you’ve got some free time and you catch yourself being a couch potato with your phone in one hand and all the world’s problems running through your head, stuck in an infinite loop, pluck up the courage and break it! Hop onto the bus, catch a running train or put on your walking shoes, and wander, especially where the Wi-fi is weak!
Don’t forget to take along your camera, capture the blue seas, the clear sky, the rugged mountains, the evergreen forests, fresh snowfall, the breath-taking sunset, your delight on meeting some fellow travellers or eating some yummy food, and remember to smile- Not just for the photo, but for life!
